Scope creep

The unnoticed expansion of a project until it becomes unmanageable.

Scope creep is the gradual expansion of a project. An extra gets added, then another request, and before you know it the project is much bigger than what was agreed. It rarely happens all at once, and that is exactly why it is so hard to notice.

Each individual addition seems reasonable. Together they lead to budget overruns, postponed deadlines and a team that loses track of the bigger picture. The cause is almost always a vague definition of scope at the start.

You keep scope creep in check by making a conscious decision about every new request: does this belong in the project, or is it something for later? Saying no is allowed, and sometimes a request is worth changing the scope for, as long as that is a deliberate choice and not something that creeps in unnoticed.

Programme management

A change that is getting too big for one project?

We temporarily take on the overview and the coordination, so your project or programme stays on course.
