Hybrid cloud

A mix of your own servers and cloud services.

A hybrid cloud is a mix of your own servers and cloud servicesSoftware and storage you use over the internet rather than on your own servers.. You keep some systems or data in-house, put others in the cloud, and make them work together. That way you choose what suits each part best.

This approach often grows out of practice. A company wants to keep certain sensitive data close to home, while still benefiting from the convenience and flexibility of the cloud for everything else. A hybrid set-up allows both.

The tricky part is that you have to make two worlds work together and manage them both. The link between what runs inside and what runs outside has to be right, and your security has to cover both. A hybrid set-up is powerful, but it demands more attention than either one on its own.
