Data quality
How accurate, complete and up to date your data is.
Data quality is about how accurate, complete and up to date your data is. Are your customers' addresses correct, is every field filled in, and is the data recent? The more often you can answer yes to those questions, the higher your data quality.
Its importance is often underestimated until something goes wrong. Decisions, reports and automations all rely on your data. If it is messy, a system sends invoices to the wrong address, your figures don't add up and you lose trust in your own data.
Quality is something you maintain; it doesn't happen by itself. Clear agreements on how data is entered, regular clean-ups and a single shared source keep quality at the right level. A system change or a migrationMoving from one system to another without losing your data. is a good moment for a thorough clean-up.
