System integration
Making separate systems work together as one whole.
System integrationThe way systems talk to each other, so you don't have to enter your data twice. is making separate systems work together as one whole. Your webshop, your stock and your accounts are linked so that data flows automatically from one to the other, without anyone having to retype it.
The gain is considerable. If you enter an order only once and the rest processes itself, you save time and avoid the errors that creep in when the same data is entered separately in several places. Well-integrated systems let information flow to where it is needed.
Integration is more than a technical job. You have to agree which system is the leading source for which piece of data, so that the link does not pass around conflicting values. Those agreements matter as much as the link itself.
