RPA
Software robots that take over repetitive clicking work between systems.
RPA stands for Robotic Process Automation. These are software robots that take over repetitive clicking work: pulling data from one screen and retyping it in another, moving files, sending standard emails. The robot does exactly what a person would do, but faster and without losing focus.
It is especially handy when two systems are not properly connected and someone has to act as the bridge by retyping. A robot can take over that bridge for a while, without you having to change the systems themselves.
Do see RPA as a plaster, though, not a cure. A real integrationThe way systems talk to each other, so you don't have to enter your data twice. between systems is usually more robust. And only automate work that is stable: if the screen or the step keeps changing, the robot often grinds to a halt.
