What the first edition taught us.
In the autumn of 2025 we launched the first digitalisationHelping your organisation work smarter with technology, not as an IT project but as a way of working. barometer. Above all, it taught us how to set up a survey like this properly. That is why we are not sharing any figures here, but rather what we learned and what we are doing differently in 2026.
Why there are no figures
A barometer is only as good as the answers it rests on. In 2025 too few people took part to say anything about SMEs in general, and afterwards we could no longer separate our own test submissions from the real ones. We do not publish figures that we do not trust ourselves.
What we learned
The questionnaire was too long. With forty questions we promised seven to eight minutes, and that turned out to be too optimistic: many people started and gave up halfway through. We also only shared the barometer on LinkedIn, so a few responses would come in shortly after each post, followed by silence.
What we are doing differently in 2026
The questionnaire now has eighteen questions and takes about five minutes. You choose your sector, size and region from a fixed list, so that we can make clean comparisons. As soon as you finish, you see your own score for each area, and the report follows in December. We are sharing the barometer more widely and more often, and from now on we keep test submissions separate.
Does this sound familiar?
Many companies see AI as an opportunity, but hardly use it in their day-to-day work yet. Is that the case for you too? It is one of the things we want to measure this year. Take part in the 2026 barometer.
